Right now we are just heading to bed for our last night in Baden Baden, Germany. We have been here for three days to relax a bit and get over our jetlag. It was a nice break from the sliding we have been at for the last month and a half but ichin' to get back on the ice and ready to start the season. Baden Baden is known as Europes summer retreat and have great mineral spas. We went the other night to one of the oldest ones and it was an interesting experience. Everyone is butt-ass naked cruisin' around this joint with saunas, showers, hot baths, cold baths, steam rooms, sleeping rooms, reading rooms, and one spot to get scrubbed and massaged if you pay the extra 9 euro. Not sure it was worth the extra dough because it hurt like hell when the old dude scrubbed me. He asked if I wanted the stiff brush or the softer one, and because everyone else choose the stiff one, I had to buck up like a champ and take it like a man... I didn't like it! My poor sensitive skin was chrimson red when he slapped me on my ass and sent me on my way. I'm not sure if these folks, guys and gals in the same room, had done something wrong and were being punished but you couldn't pay me enough to scrub down naked strangers. And a small footnote, most of the patrons were old enough to be my grandparents. IK. One more thing I can say I have done and won't have to partake in again. Tomorrow we are off to Winterberg and I'm sure there are no spas there I will have to go to... I hope. Training starts on Tuesday afternoon and the weather looks like typical Winterberg weather. Overcast. No rain on the horizon though and that is unusual but only time will tell on that one.
